"Finch's" full recovery from chronic laminitis

We are in a privileged position to be able to help horses and ponies feel better and in doing so we help people too. The video below features Finch, a small pony who developed acute then chronic laminitis and was struggling to walk. He made a 100% recovery and lives in a small herd of 4 ponies, out 24/7 on grass!

Can horses recover from laminitis?

Finch is a living, breathing example of a laminitis success story, which required teamwork between hoof carer, owner and vet. Many, but not all horses make a full recovery and this is one disease where prevention is most certainly better than cure. Since the video was made last year, Finch continued to lose weight and develop healthier hooves. He is 100% sound and free from laminitis and is moving better than ever before.

"Most laminitis is preventable - it is up to the horse owner to learn about laminitis, how to recognise and prevent it. If diagnosed; effective teamwork between hoof carer, owner, vet and other professionals is critical for a successful outcome."

Education and awareness of healthy posture and hoof proportions is key to prevention of hoof diseases

We highly recommend ALL horse owners and even industry professionals (vets, farriers, trimmers, EP's, dentists, trainers, coaches and therapists) learn how to recognise healthy posture and hoof proportions and promote and maintain them. To assist, we offer educational events and mentorship opportunities
