RESCUE REMEDY
| |
|
Rescue Remedy is often the first introduction people have to the suite of Bach Flower Remedies. However, few people are fully aware of the true function of Rescue Remedy and the purpose for which it was originally developed. Consequently, people are all too often taking Rescue Remedy to assist with their particular situation, only to be disappointed with the results. Contrary to its actual purpose, Rescue Remedy has been misinterpreted as the panacea for all ills, and as such is regularly used by those suffering from a variety of emotional problems. It is important to be conscious of how Rescue Remedy differs from the 38 single remedies. It is the only one of the Bach Remedies to be sold as a pre mixed treatment and is also avaible from other companies under a variety of names such as Five flower remedy. |

So what's in it? | |
|
Rock Rose:
For terror and panic |
|
Sometimes referred to as the 39th remedy, Rescue Remedy can be thought of as a
single remedy with its own indications. By looking at the composite remedies and
the mental states they address, we can see why, in some situations, a person will
not feel the benefit of taking Rescue Remedy.
Each of the 38 remedies address it's own set of negative emotions. If a person's
feelings are not covered in these five remedies, then taking Rescue Remedy will
not have the desired effect.
In prescribing a Bach Flower treatment, the remedy needs to suit the individual
problems. Rescue Remedy is not relevant for all problems. If the feelings are of
anger and jealousy, resulting in the person experiencing mood swings, then a
different selection of remedies would be required - in this case Holly and
Scleranthus.

Clematis:
For faintness, unconsciousness and feelings of a "floating" mind |
||
|
Impatiens:
For irritability, tension and pain |

|
Star of Bethlehem:
For the effects of shock and panic |
||
|
Cherry Plum:
For fear of losing control or panic |

When should I use Rescue Remedy for myself and my horse?
Rescue Remedy is useful for: |
|
It does not replace medical treatment and so if you are worried about your horses well being you should always consult a vet - however Rescue Remedy can and will make a difference in situations as described above, helping the horse or you to recovery, keeping you calm and reducing the effects of shock - definitely one remedy to keep close to hand. |
|
Dosage:
The drops can be put in feeds or treats, or dropped directly into the bottom lip (please exercise extreme caution with this as the pipette supplied in the bottle is made of glass). Many of my clients have found that the drops soak well into herbal treats.
